Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.
Life This Week is a meme created by Denyse Whelan Blogs where bloggers share snaps of what is currently happening in their lives.
Happy Monday!
Christmas has come and gone since my last post. New Year came with a new Covid outbreak in Sydney and compulsory mask wearing was declared for all indoor areas. We are fortunate that any outbreaks are jumped on quickly and the source identified.
I'm currently on an "at home" holiday and have managed to get out and about on a few walks and visiting outdoor cafes.

I won tickets to The Dry - Highly recommended! |
I spotted this albino fish in the lake. |
My daughter needed to buy clothes for work and the shops are deserted
Books I've received recently
Gone to the Woods by Gary PaulsenThe Women and the Girls by Laura Bloom
The Devils You Know by Ben Sanders
My Best Friends Murder by Polly Phillips
I would love to hear what books you received in the mail recently!
Hi Veronica, I've been reading a lot of books from family members lately and it's interesting just picking up titles and not knowing anything about them. I've found a few I've enjoyed but some not so much. It's like a lottery in a way! #lifethisweek
ReplyDeleteThat Albino fish is impressive. Enjoy the new books.
ReplyDeleteWow that shop is Empty! Things here in WA are much more stable (we keep slamming shut the borders every 5 mins) so no masks atm, and plenty of people out and about. I dread the next wave and the idiot that brings it with them and doesn't do the right thing, but in the meantime I'm enjoying the freedom and the fresh air!
ReplyDeleteI received The Women and The Girls as well. I'm not sure it's my type of book. I got My Best Friend's Murder and enjoyed it though.
ReplyDeleteI also saw The Dry and really enjoyed it. Some great Aussie talent there.
I go out to work but rarely anywhere else. No shops since March except an occasional pharmacy visit. Everything else is delivered.
ReplyDeleteThe Dry does sound good. I've enjoyed other works by Gary Paulsen. I hope you enjoy all of your reading while staying safe!
I like the fact there are fewer people at my local shopping centres right now and we are all wearing masks and I tend to go there and home rather than stay for a coffee, although I did yesterday. I suspect things will get busier as back to school begins in earnest. Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week the optional prompt is Back To. 3/51 #LifeThisWeek 18 Jan. I hope to see you there. Denyse.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about The Dry, it looks awesome, esp. since I love *watching* crime dramas. Your week was pretty eventful, judging my the albino fish you spotted. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlbino fish?!? So cool! I don't think I have ever seen that. It's so nice that you can visit outdoor cafes. It's winter here and all of our cafes are closed due to Covid! :(
