Mailbox Monday - July 26th

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.

Happy Monday!

We are still in lock down in NSW, Australia. I think it's been five weeks (I've lost track of all time). We are allowed to walk for exercise within 5 km of our home so the two book fairy drops that had been schedule in July still took place, leaving books around the parks and walking tracks. However the August drop has been postponed.

I haven't been doing a lot of reading but have resumed my knitting. I am making an afghan throw for Jay with 24 squares completed and 11 to go. Each square has a picture knitted into it.

I also finished a little baby jacket that I was knitting from a review knitting book due to be released in August.

Books I've received and purchased over the last two weeks.

Christians by Greg Sheridan

The Eighth Wonder by Tania Farrelly

Birds of a Feather by Tricia Stringer (release date 29 Sept)

The Unusual Abduction of Avery Conifer by Ilsa Evans (release date 1 Sept)

The Riviera House by Natasha Lester (release date 1 Sept)

Do any of the above peak your interest? What have you received in your mail box recently?

  2. Oh wow that's some intense knitting! Admittedly I can only do the most basic of things, like making a scarf. 'The Eight Wonder' and 'Birds of a Feather' also have me intrigued! I hope you enjoy them and that your lockdown is over quickly!

    1. No skill needed to knit these squares. I'm looking forward to Birds of a Feather. It's by one of my favourite authors.

  3. Enjoy your indoor activities during lockdown. I spent all of 2020 (from March on) in lockdown and only went out once to the doctor's office!

I am glad that I enjoy indoor activities!

Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.

    1. I'm lucky to be able to sit in our yard and soak in some winter sun whilst reading a book. I do miss seeing my children though.

  8. I have lost all sense of time and meaning in this lockdown 😂 I have no idea how long it's been! Very day-by-day in the Penguins household. I also recently received a copy of the Unusual Abduction, it sounds like a funny little read, I'm looking forward to it (and to hearing your thoughts on it, too!).

    1. lack of the sense of time and lack of motivation are two things bringing me down. I function much better when I am really busy.
