Since my last Life This Week we have celebrated Australia Day which we usually celebrate with a family picnic but it was far too hot this year so we stayed at home close to the pool.
I have been trying to do the photo a day challenge. I did this waaay back in 2011 and I must have been a lot less busy then, or had a much better memory, because this year I've already missed about a third of the days photos but I will persevere. I will be interested to compare the photos and see how life has changed over the ten years.


I've started another afghan throw. This one is for my Grandson
 

We are still pretty much failing at gardening but we keep trying 😀

This book has the most gorgeous cover!
I loved Scrublands when I read it and I was pleased to find Silver, the second book in the series, at my local Op shop.

    Hi Veronica,

    We are still in full lockdown over here, so no mixing for us. In fact we haven't seen friends or family for almost a year now! Hubbie has had his first jab as he has a health condition, but mine isn't due for another couple of months. Then we have to wait another three months for the second jab. By then I guess autumn will be closing in on us, so that will be another year of our lives we will never get back :)

    We have quite a large garden, but I have to say that neither of us are particularly keen gardeners, which is a bit of a problem! Most of it is over to evergreen shrubs, which at least offer some greenery all year round.

    I love the colour of your latest knitting wool and the lovely pattern. I must admit that I usually end up by crocheting my Afghan throws, so that I can make them all in one piece, as I hate sewing or knitting squares together!

    Three lovely sounding books, although it does sound as though the Chris Hammer books need to be read as a series and don't work too well as stand alone stories. Of course an cover with food on it has to be a winner, especially if it is sweet!

      I feel for you Yvonne. We’ve been very lucky in Australia that we have only had a few lockdowns. Victoria was the hardest hit. Sewing up the squares on the Afghan is tedious but I made my granddaughter one so want my grandson to have one too. Next time, if ever, I make one I think I will just do one big one.

      I really enjoyed the first book Scrublands. If you want to experience an Australian Bush Summer read Scrublands as Chris Hammer depicts the heat to perfection.

      Thank you Kay. Each square has an embossed picture. I’m doing dinosaurs and trucks for my grandson. Don’t let that sweet face fool you. He likes to corner me in a room and not let me out.

    I like that dark green color. Kitty looks sweet and patient.
    At least the vine has flowers.. maybe fruit to follow?

      It is a gorgeous colour. This plant is cucumbers. But I’m not holding my breath. We only got two tomatoes from our tomato plant and then it died. 😂
      I loved Alissa Callen’s previous book so I’m sure I will love this.

    I used to participate in the photo-a-day challenge back in 2013 (?) I didn't complete the challenge perfectly, but I certainly took far more pictures than I do now. Perhaps it's time to challenge myself again.
    I don't receive much book mail, but I do enjoy a nice library haul on a weekly basis :)
