Mailbox Monday: October 25th

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week (or month). It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday Blog.

 Happy Monday

It was so good to finally celebrate Freedom Day for New South Wales Australia.  We were allowed to have 10 visitors to our house which was just enough have our children and their partners visit to celebrate our youngest son's 30th Birthday.

I've also been enjoying trips to the local shops and actually sitting down and having a coffee. The simple pleasures. 😀
The Prevention Australia virtual walk was held yesterday. It is a 10km walk to raise money for breast cancer trials. It has been lots of fun over the last 6 weeks training for our 10km walk.

Jay found the perfect place to wait out the small shower of rain during our play at the park.

I found this gorgeous Christmas decoration at Myer.
Book Fairies all over the world hid copies of Pony by R J Palacio on publication date. This is one of my books waiting to be found.

Books I've received and purchased over the last month.

Happy Monday!

Lock down has been extended for us in NSW until end of September. Today I am focusing on some happy things. My husband and son are currently rocking their new 70's hair styles. I'm not game to cut their hair! We still get to walk everyday and the weather is gorgeous. Below are some snaps from my daily walks.

I've finished the blanket I've been knitting for Jay. The squares waiting to be sewn together and the finished blanket drying outside.

Books I've received and purchased over the last month.

The Heron's Cry by Ann Cleaves (release date 7th Sept 2021)

Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty (release date 14th Sept 2021)

Exit Through the Gift Shop by Maryam Master (Publication 27th July 2021)

The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa (release date 14th September 2021)

Mailbox Monday - July 26th

Happy Monday!

We are still in lock down in NSW, Australia. I think it's been five weeks (I've lost track of all time). We are allowed to walk for exercise within 5 km of our home so the two book fairy drops that had been schedule in July still took place, leaving books around the parks and walking tracks. However the August drop has been postponed.

I haven't been doing a lot of reading but have resumed my knitting. I am making an afghan throw for Jay with 24 squares completed and 11 to go. Each square has a picture knitted into it.

I also finished a little baby jacket that I was knitting from a review knitting book due to be released in August.

Books I've received and purchased over the last two weeks.

Christians by Greg Sheridan

The Eighth Wonder by Tania Farrelly

Birds of a Feather by Tricia Stringer (release date 29 Sept)

The Unusual Abduction of Avery Conifer by Ilsa Evans (release date 1 Sept)

The Riviera House by Natasha Lester (release date 1 Sept)

Happy Monday!

We are in lockdown here in Sydney, Australia which makes me realise how lucky we have been here in Australia with the whole Covid-19 pandemic. This is only the second hard lockdown we have had in Sydney over the last eighteen months.

I had my grandchildren over the school holidays and even though it is winter in Australia the days have been sunny and I discovered we have lots of fun parks in the local area. With a new one opening just a few minutes walk from my house. And even though we didn't get to go shopping or go to Vinnies (a charity shop), two of Dot's favourite things, we had lots of fun crafting and baking. They have now been packed off home to be homeschooled by their parents.

I have a terrible  fear of heights which Jay apparently didn't inherit as he is standing at the top of this structure with me underneath, with hands sweating, calling for him to please sit down

 Happy Monday!

It's been a rocky couple of weeks. My husband had an accident on his bicycle and spent a 5 days in hospital. He is very fortunate that he never goes out without a helmet but he still managed to get quite battered, six fractured ribs and muscle damage to his leg. I've been playing nurse all week as he can't walk more than a few steps. So there's been no reading for the last two weeks. However, new books arriving in the mailbox have kept me smiling.

A few pics from what I was up to before the accident.

Mailbox Monday & Life This Week - April 12th

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.

Life This Week is a meme created by Denyse Whelan Blogs where bloggers share snaps of what is currently happening in their lives.

Happy Monday!
It's been a while since I've posted a book haul update and a little of what I've been doing. Well over a month!

Since my last post we have had a deluge of rain causing floods state wide,  celebrated Dot's birthday, my birthday, my sister visited from Queensland, celebrated Easter, visited the Royal Easter Show and we are currently in the second week of the school holidays.
