Mailbox Monday - July 25th

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week (or month). I post my new books on the last Monday of the month. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday Blog

  Happy Monday!

Another busy month for me with looking after the grandchildren during two weeks school holidays, two birthdays in the family and a book fairy drop for a children's book Loki, a Bad God's Guide to Being Good. I hope those who found the books enjoyed them.

My husband's radiation therapy has finished and he is managing the after effects of fluid retention, burnt and cracked skin and a sore jaw well enough. The hospital will continue to monitor his recovery.

During the school break we visited lots of parks, when it wasn't raining, and the days we were stuck indoors we played games and did lots of craft.

We celebrated Jay's 6th birthday and my eldest son's 37th birthday

My latest knitting project - Minecraft fans will recognise this.

Happy Monday!

I'm late again with my mailbox post again but at least it's still Monday (for a few more hours).

My husband is currently at the half way point with his radiation. He is coping well and still managing to eat okay. His skin is starting to show the effects and at the moment looks like a slight sunburn. The hospital staff are amazing and everything has run smoothly. Three more weeks to go!

We have had two birthdays in the last month. Our youngest child turned 24 and our second born turned 35.
I've been out and about in the city dropping copies of The Bravest Word for book fairies.
Also attended a lovely high tea with my eldest daughter.

Happy Monday! Wednesday!

I'm late with my mailbox post this month! I was so invested with my current read on Monday that I couldn't put it down. Nothing else got done until I finished The Reunion by Polly Phillips. I love a good revenge story! My review will be posted on 6th June and I giveaway for the book on 10th June.

During the last month my husband was diagnosed with a tumor in his neck so it has been busy with biopsies, CT scans, MRIs and specialist appointments. He was referred to a wonderful ENT, a specialist in head and neck cancer, who calmed us with his confidence that all will go well and the speed that he was booked into surgery. He is now three weeks post op and will start 6 weeks radiation therapy next week.

Photos from the last month of hospitals, coffee and Mother's Day.

Happy Monday!

We have had son no. 2 at home with a broken ankle for the last month. He is slowly recovering and goes to see the surgeon again in three weeks to see if he will be able to start load bearing on his foot. He is sleeping in our spare room in a tiny double bed and I am sure he is looking forward to going back to his own place as soon as he can.

The Book Fairies were out and about all over Australia leaving copies of The Sky is Everywhere for people to find. These are a couple of the books I left.

There has been an abundance of gorgeous flowers blooming at the moment. These are some I came across on my walks.

Books I purchased after reading and loving book #28 in the Stephanie Plum series. These were found at my local Op Shop.

Happy Monday!

The heat of last month has been replaced by rain, rain and more rain. One advantage is that the lawn is looking lush and green.

Below are some photos of what I've been up to over the last month.

The local shopping centre had a dragon dance exhibition. I have an irrational fear of people dressed up in costumes so this photo was taken far away from the actual dancers.

The lovely thing about rain is the rainbows after.

Jay started school this year and has taken it all in his stride.

My son got married last weekend. Top photo: My son and his new wife. Bottom photo: My husband and I. I'm happy to take a break from weddings for a while now. 😀
